Open-minded, collaborative and driven to solve societal challenges and to find solutions to issues such as poverty, integration, health, sustainable mobility, social isolation, …? From any cultural background, nationality or study program (from physics, engineering, medicine to design & arts and social sciences - e.g. economics, anthropology, psychology, etc.)? Then you are the one #AttractYoung is looking for!
To share your point of view on the societal challenges that need to be addressed – or better – solved, by 2025, we organize #AttractYoung hackathonto find solutions to the challenges of the future with the use of detectors and imaging technologies (in their broadest sense). The best applicants will be divided into international interdisciplinary teams that will get support by carefully selected coaches and the group of detector experts.
The deadline for submitting your idea is March 15th.
Up to 10 #AttractYoung participants selected by the Evaluation Panel will be awarded a 5-day visit to CERN (European Organization for Nuclear Research) / ESRF (European Synchrotron Radiation Facility) to further brainstorm on their ideas. All expenses paid.

#AttractYoung hackathon is organized by Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste, AREA Science Park, INFN Trieste - National Institute of Nuclear Physics, in collaboration with ATTRACT.
The ATTRACT initiative includes some of the European scientific leaders including CERN, the European Southern Observatory (ESO), the European Synchroton Radiation Facility (ESRF) and the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) with the aim of finding market outlets for scientific discoveries in the field of detectors and imaging technologies and to achieve an economic exploitation of European scientific investments.
